My Life as a Family History Researcher/Historian- Week 15
This week has been wild.
1. My editor and I got the eBook version of Unraveling the Family Secret uploaded, uploaded to Amazon.com.
I received an email back from Amazon.com yesterday. The email stated that they needed more information to make sure I was the only one with the rights to my book and that no other publisher had rights to it.
Also, they only gave me 5 days to gather my documentation. My editor suggested that I scan in a copy of my Copyright Registration Letter and copies of my Business License since I self-published through my family history research business, Coming Full Circle as the official publisher.
I got it all sent off today with an email reply. I have received a reply email back. They have received the documents and further review is needed. I will receive a reply from them in 5 business days. Hopefully, it will be published by the end of the month.
2. I finished my Spring Semester for school this week. 10 more credit hours under my belt towards my BS Degree in Professional Studies, which consists of three certificates. I have finished two Family History Research and Advanced Family History Research. I am currently working on my third certificate Entrepreneurship.
I am pretty sure that I only have two more classes (so one more semester) before I will graduate with my second Batchelor's Degree. Happy Dance!
3. My editor says that my next book looks really good so far. It will be a non-fiction reference book about the prisoners that were incarcerated in the Utah Territorial Prison System.
4. I recently found out that a newspaper for Wallsburg, UT, my hometown is being produced be a couple living there. They send one out every other month. It is called Round Valley Dispatch. I will be taking out an ad in their Newspaper soon, cheaper than the Wasatch Wave.
They are also looking for family history articles and I am trying to work something out with them on that. To get more exposer for my business and writing career.
5. I have also had a few more leads on places I can talk to people about my book and business.
I was able to leave a few business cards at Triple S Western Wear on Main Street in Midway, UT last week. The owner suggested that I should talk to the Delicate Pear that used to be All That Stuff in the Barn and a few other places in Heber.
I think I will put a few Business cards out at the Rec Center on the community boards and I will try Wigglish Toy Store on South 40 in Daniel's. I will keep trying, it is all I can do.
My plan is to fund my next book's editing and formatting with the royalties from Unraveling the Family Secret. Then have that book fund the next and then eventually get to the point where my books could help me get out of debt.
