Week 14 - Celebrate Your Life

This is the last post for my class – Introduction to Entrepreneurship as it is the last week of the course. I have enjoyed blogging and intend to continue doing so. I will probably post once a week about my life as a Family History Researcher/Historian and just continue with the same blog.

If you had one final lecture to share with a group of students on what you have learned from this course, what would you share?

I would share that there is no time like the present to start your own business. Do not be afraid to take a leap of faith and allow the Lord to guide you. There is a time for planning and learning and then there is also a time to act and learn on the fly. Only you and the Lord can decide when it is your time to act.

What would be your last bit of advice to someone wanting to begin the entrepreneur’s journey?

Go for it, do not be afraid to take some calculated risks and the rest will fall into place. The Lord will guide your path if you let him. If your endeavor does not go as planned it was lessons, you had to learn to progress on your journey.

What words of advice, direction, or caution would you give him or her if you had only one chance to give your own last lecture?

Do not take unnecessary risks in your endeavor. There are ways to do marketing and websites on a budget. Making a free Facebook page is a great way to get the word out about your business, also a free Instagram account, starting a free blog on Blogger or another blog site. Do not underestimate the power of your contacts in your own mobile device, word of mouth goes along way. You can either make and print your own business cards or have a printing company do it for you for 100 for less than $15.

And most importantly -Talk to Everyone. Talk yourself up, because no one else knows your brand or products more than you do.
