Rootstech Newsletters

Apparently for signing up to be a virtual exhibitor for RootsTech 2025, I have the opportunity to be featured in the RootsTech newsletter. I will totally jump on this if it’s not a lot of money. Good news, getting on the RootsTech newsletter is free. However, They need it by Friday, May 2nd. I will get this done tonight April 30th. Happy Dance!!!💃 Also, I have decided I can afford a 2” by 2” Ad in the Little Valley Dispatch Newspaper about twice a year right now which is $25 an edition and they only have 6 editions a year. I have reached out to both of the above to get more details. Also, one eBook has sold so far on Amazon. Happy Dance! I also learning how to advertise my ebook on Amazon as well. This is another huge learning curve but it will all be worth it in the end.

Week 17-Book Promotion

Got brave and handed out 3 business cards so far at my physical therapist’s place of business. Some of them are really interested. I was also able to post my business cards on both community boards at the Recreation Center in Heber City. 5 for each board so10 in all. I also sent put about two text messages to former co workers about my book as well. I have also decided that I will no longer be putting the week’s Number in my posts. I will just post when the occasion calls for it. 😊

Week 16- Marketing my book

I have nominated my book for book lists for libraries, book stores etc. all over the world for both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day through IngramSpark. Fingers Crossed that it will be accepted! So, It has been another wild week. I am so overwhelmed right now. I thought I had a Summer job lined up but come to find out that the company I have worked for on and off in Park City for the last two years doesn’t want me back like at all. I am not really mad or sad about it cause I know God has good things in-store for me. It is time to pivot. I believe it is time to pour my heart and soul into my family history business and get it flourishing this Summer. Promote my book even harder. And give me current Clients more attention. I will be okay. Finish another book, not publishing it just yet but finish writing it. Not publishing because I need to save up money for editing but once I have that I can pay for that all at once and go from there. So, It is time to stop investing in other companies an...

My Life as a Family History Researcher/Historian- Week 15

This week has been wild.  1. My editor and I got the eBook version of Unraveling the Family Secret uploaded, uploaded to Amazon.com. I received an email back from Amazon.com yesterday. The email stated that they needed more information to make sure I was the only one with the rights to my book and that no other publisher had rights to it. Also, they only gave me 5 days to gather my documentation. My editor suggested that I scan in a copy of my Copyright Registration Letter and copies of my Business License since I self-published through my family history research business, Coming Full Circle as the official publisher. I got it all sent off today with an email reply. I have received a reply email back. They have received the documents and further review is needed. I will receive a reply from them in 5 business days. Hopefully, it will be published by the end of the month. 2. I finished my Spring Semester for school this week. 10 more credit hours under my belt towards my BS Degree i...

Week 14 - Celebrate Your Life

This is the last post for my class – Introduction to Entrepreneurship as it is the last week of the course. I have enjoyed blogging and intend to continue doing so. I will probably post once a week about my life as a Family History Researcher/Historian and just continue with the same blog.  If you had one final lecture to share with a group of students on what you have learned from this course, what would you share? I would share that there is no time like the present to start your own business. Do not be afraid to take a leap of faith and allow the Lord to guide you. There is a time for planning and learning and then there is also a time to act and learn on the fly. Only you and the Lord can decide when it is your time to act. What would be your last bit of advice to someone wanting to begin the entrepreneur’s journey? Go for it, do not be afraid to take some calculated risks and the rest will fall into place. The Lord will guide your path if you let him. If your endeavor ...

Week 13 - A Journey of Gratitude

I think every once in a while, I need to be reminded to be grateful for what I have in life. I need to be reminded of how blessed I am. That I still have a roof over my head. That I have food on the table. I have a running car. I have a dog. I have friends and co-workers who understand me. That I have a good job with good healthcare benefits. That I can read and write. That I am a published author. That I have goals and ambitions, but I do not use people to get where I want to be in life. That the Jesus Christ is my savior and friend. That my mom is still around, and I can still ask her for advice. That all of my siblings are still alive, and I have a pretty good relationship with 2 out of the three of them which was hard own. That I have an editor that has stuck my side for almost 3 years and counting. That my book has sold about 240 copies and counting. The eBook version is to be released on Amazon on the 15th of April. That my book is touching lives like it was intended too. Th...
